Chapter Four: Why Butterflies Mean New Beginnings

Chapter Four — in which we discover why our logo has wings.

Have you noticed the butterfly in the BabyChic logo? It's made of two letter B's — and it's there for a very good reason.

When a caterpillar builds its chrysalis, something wild happens inside: it doesn't just sprout wings. Almost its whole body dissolves and rebuilds itself into a completely new creature. Scientists have found that even so, butterflies can remember things they learned as caterpillars. They change completely — yet they're still themselves.

That's exactly what growing up feels like, isn't it? You change schools, change hobbies, change your mind about a hundred things. You become someone new — while staying you the whole time.

A few more butterfly facts to impress your friends: butterflies taste with their feet, some travel over 4,000 km when they migrate, and their wings aren't actually colourful — they're covered in tiny clear scales that bend light like thousands of miniature prisms. 🦋

Every chapter of your life is a little metamorphosis. That's why Bloom exists — to celebrate each one.
